To avoid risk of infection, tampons should be changed every 4 to 6 hours. Any longer and you'd giving bacteria a chance to grow and multiply, putting yourself at risk for vaginal infections. As a rule of thumb, if you have a light-to-medium flow and use regular-size pads, you should try Regular tampons. For a heavier flow or if you use long or super-maxi pads, go for Super size tampons. For a really heavy period or if you must use Overnight pads during the day, then Super-Plus tampons are appropriate. NEVER use Super-plus tampons in order to extend the time between changes; if you don't want to get up in the middle of the night to change your tampon, then use pads at night and wear tampons during the day. There really is no way to tell for sure - but the min. length of time you should use a tampon is 3 hours, and the max is 6-8 (if you change it more or less than this you risk getting TSS). As you use tampons more you will get the hang of how long it is before you have to change it. What I might suggest is start with a lower absorbancy, and wear a pad too - you will be able to see if it's leaking and needs changing. Then going by that, slowly work your way up absorbancies so that the tampon can stay in for 3-6 hours.

Change your tampon about as regularly as you would change your pad. No more than 4 hours but less if you bleed heavily. Try to get a comfortable tampon. I have used both tampons and pads. A few years ago, I went back to pads from tampons because I got tired of walking around with something up in me. I am thinking about switching back to tampons now because I get tired of walking around feeling like I have on a mini-diaper. A woman's work is never done. We have these wonderful bodies that we have to do so much to maintain. I would suggest Playtex tampons. They have a variety to chose from. I like the plastic applicators. Yes, you can sleep in your tampon but make sure you get one with adequate overnight absorption. Good luck and hope this helps.

I know the recommended time is something like 4-6 hours and you definitely can't keep them in for more than 8 hours. I usually check mine every 4 hours or so when I'm heavy and then stretch it out more when I'm lighter. It all depends on what kind of tampn you're using. If you've never used them before and you're a virgin you might want to start with a slim fit to make sure it's not uncomfortable for you. I wouldn't recommend sleeping in one either, but that's a personal preference I suppose. I usually just sleep in a pad just to be on the safe said.

You should change the tampon at least every 5-6 hours--more if you tend to have a heavier flow. You can sleep in them---however I would not leave the same one in for more than 8 hours.

Change it every 4 hours or so depending on your flow. You should start out with a combo pack with different absorbencies and sizes to find out whaotfits your body best. Yes, you can sleep with a tampon, but you'll need to change it at least once during the night.

It depends on how heavy your bleeding. Try to change them every couple of hours though at least though. Yes you can sleep in tampons, as long as you don't sleep for like 12 hours a day. Unless you want TSS. :-) Which you don't trust me.
Go here this should help. Good luck:
