Because the hymen has been broken.

A female has a piece of skin called a hymen that is around the opening of the vagina which gets torn as the penis enters the vagina from intercourse because the penis is larger then the opening at the mouth of the vagina. The tearing or ripping of this skin causes the bleeding just as any skin being torn or ripped would bleed if cut or torn.
