Starting on January 1, 2007, Romania will have the seventh largest population and the ninth largest territory in the EU. The accession of Romania and Bulgaria, as expected in 2007, will complete the fifth enlargement of the EU that had started in May 2004. Romania's fauna and flora are varied. It is one of the few European countries to have Brown Bears within its territory. Chamois are known to live in the Carpathian mountains.

Romania is located in SE Central Europe, on the lower Danube and bordering on the Black Sea. The 45 deg parallel of North latitude and the 25 deg East line of longitude is crossing Romania.

Definitely in Eastern Europe. It used to be a member of the Warsaw Pact, before a revolution overthrew the government in 1989. It's on the Black Sea between Bulgaria and the Ukraine. What's interesting about the language is that it's the only Romance language in the Balkans.
Romania is interesting as its northwestern part includes Transylvania, and we all know what comes from there.

Every true romanian knows that Romania is located near Mother Russia, right next to Hungary, Bulgary, Moldovia and Ucraine.
A friend once told me that Romania is filled with werewolves and vampires. Old Ivan was right, i checked !
