It's the Alaska pipeline and it's corroded. It's being shut down indefinitely. Of course the cost of gas at the pump is going to jump. And the oil companies will rake in even larger profits. As of yesterday the lowest price we could find for regular was $3.11/gallon. And last month we got our new home heating oil monthly budget amount and it went up $80/month (that's 68%)!!!! We are on a fixed income. We'll have to make some hard choices. We've already cut down our driving as much as we can. Now we have to look for ways to keep our home warm this winter. We'll be looking at more ways to weatherize our home. It's scary.

1. It's spelled 'rumor'.
2. Yes, BP is shutting down their pipeline in Alaska. The USA receives 8 percent of it's oil from there. How will it effect prices? A barrel of oil just 1 dollar today (Monday)

I believe they are going to try and repair the barge before they just do away with it. As far as gas prices I have heard we will be at four dollars a gallon by fall.
