Dear Candy,
Set for yourself an O.H.I.O. policy - only handle it once. Also, set some time each day, the same time preferably, to go to a study place and study. Don't take your laptop if you have one, maybe an IPod if you don't fiddle with it too much - basically, set aside time dedicated solely to studying.
Also, when you do get distracted, make a list of what has distracted you, and if it's one or a class of things that gets you, try and avoid it. If its your own thoughts, keep a notepad and jot them down to get them out of your head.
How is your caffeine intake? Have you ever been tested for AD(H)D?

Study with friends who are doing better at this than you are or with people in your classes who are doing well.
I know its really hard to keep your mind on studying when there are so many other things you can be doing. Also, procrastinating is self-perpetuating once you let yourself get stressed out about getting behind. Yet, you need to create an atmosphere that helps you to be focused. Pay attention to what distracts you and what helps you focus. I found that I could write a paper with the tv or radio on but I needed to have quiet while I was reading.
If you do better if you can just keep studying once you start, assemble everything you need before you get started. Have snacks handy, grab all the supplies you need, turn off your cell phone, tell people you're studying and they need to leave you alone, find a place where you will be able to concentrate and don't tell your friends where you'll be...
This is all part of the university experience. You can figure out how to do this in a way that works for you and you will benefit from it when you graduate and have to work in a distracting environment...

I too am a college student who struggles at times managing my time. I have found that for me to stay ahead of the game and not get behind on my studies, I start my assignments as soon as I know about them. I also tend to do assignments and readings that are of least intrest to me first. I save the assignments from my major last because I enjoy them. I also find that doing assignments during the day is a lot easier than at night. If you live with roomates or in a dorm, it is hard to concentrate because you would rather spend time talking or whatnot. If you try doing assignments during the day, more likely, you will be more awake and there will be fewer distractions.

Ask God to help you focus on your studies and for clarity of purpose. If you consider that only minimum wage jobs await you if you don't complete college, then you will have a reason not to fail. You may try meditating on this matter to reduce your anxiety level. If the work is done then you don't feel bad about yourself. Waiting til the last minute puts you into a panic and you know before your exams that you will fail. Start telling yourself the positive aspects of the reason you are doing this. Mcdonalds is waiting for you if you don't get your priorities straight. Good luck

Try working in the same place each time. Then you will equate good study habits to that spot. Also try to limit music to songs that won't make you get up and dance. I read a book called 7 highly effective habits for teens, which has a great chapter on time-management. Check it out at the library!

with a view to lose motivation, you could desire to be delivered on. you do not have an oz.. of motivation related to college artwork. you're in basic terms delivered directly to not artwork. not even the lack of 40% of your usual mark strikes you. What you definitely want is a powerful quick kick to get you began. or maybe a 50 hour each and every week hard onerous interest for low pay and awful working circumstances. in basic terms for some month. then you definately could motivate your self to get returned to the genuine corporation to hand. this is to attend college, open the books, get knowledgeable. Thereby transforming into a extra nicely rounded man or woman. yet for now, i'm specific you have closed your techniques to the full thought. yet it is effective. because of fact once you have failing grades for a year, you would be digging your man or woman ditch, with a lifeless shovel, chilly climate, and coffee pay. undergo in techniques my words to you while it happens.

you need to make a schedule for at least an hour a night, maybe even two. it's all about time management. The second you hear about a test, start studying that night that way right before the test you can walk in and be satisfied you will do well.

You have to like the studies, and have a goal for the future. The reason why I study hard is because it is expensive and I can't effort to fail an exam.
