I need to buy a house in Georgia that is literally close to the border of South Carolina.I know there are a couple counties that borders South Carolina, but I want the most desirable.For example, a place that is closer to the main city in South Carolina.

Augusta, GA would be the closest big city in GA to the SC state capital of Columbia. It is about an hour drive on I-20.

I used to live in Elberton, Georgia. It is a beautiful city and basically right on the South Carolina border.

Savannah is a great place to live, although it is very close to the ocean and not as close to the capital of SC.

what "main city" in SC are you referring to?
your question is a bit vague. however, i DO suggest finding a realtor in georgia, who can help you with your purchase. using a buyer's agent doesn't cost you anything!
