I am 10 wks pregnant. I was wondering if anyone else is having really weird dreams and can't sleep at night. It seems like just about the time I get comfortable enough to go to sleep I start having a crazy dream....like people breaking into the house. Stuff like that. Any suggestions on how to stop these dreams and get some sleep?

Their really is no sure way to stop yourself from dreaming, but perhaps with a dr. prescribed sleep aid you could fall into a deeper sleep. Or maybe you are very stressed by this pregnancy ( its stressful even if you are happy..i am 5 mths. now and I am having crazy dreams too--) try relaxing before bedtime, perhaps some meditation or just a book to read before bed to help you settle into a comfortable sleep. You could always try some warm milk( extra calcium is good for you and baby.) or maybe some hot tea. If all else fails and you still continue to dream, try not to worry about it. This will pass once your baby is born and then you wont sleep at all!! Ha ..

Getting enough sleep and rest is very important. Having REM sleep is important too so we need to dream which happens in REM sleep. What we don't need are crazy dreams. What you eat late at night especially can effect our dreams. Hot spicy foods are notorious for inducing bad dreams. Be careful what you consume before going to sleep.

Last night I dreamed I was an X-Man and I was fighting Wolverine, who had gone over to Magneto's side. We were fighting and then I shot him with a gun loaded with french fries. No lie. That is really what I dreamed. And I'm not even pregnant. Where's Dr. Freud when you need him?

Welcome to mommiehood! We all have dreams about these sort of things, it is just our fears manifested so! Not much you can do about it, just accept it. During pregnancy the dreams tend to be more intense and in more detail due to the overflow of hormones that are coursing through your body right now. Nothing to worry about, though, is just part of being preggie and being a mom! Good luck with everything!

It is common to have strange dreams when you are prengant. I've heard it is you maternal instincts kicking in. Kinda like prepareing you for motherhood. My son is 6 months old and I'm still having them. Nothing you can do about your dreams unfortunatley. I know sometimes they scare you! But realize they are only dreams.

To dream that your house is broken into, suggests that you are feeling violated. It may refer to a particular relationship or current situation in your life. Alternatively, it indicates that some unconscious material is attempting to make itself known. There are some aspects of yourself that you have denied.
