The problem is game devlopers think with fantastic graphics the game will be good with an already used storyline or focusing to much on graphics, but the main focus is it fun to play?, doesnt become boring and the same thing over and over willl become tiring, i think the nintedo wii be very good because it is diffrent from sitting in front of a tv and twilldling ure thumbs, plus ure actullay doing the motion playing tennis, golf, baseball, fishing, racing, shotting the list goes on and will provide a fair competiont and will make the game fun because ure doing something more activity wise.
Morale of the story, Graphics dont make a good game.

I agree. I have a collection of 50+ ps2 games and there are only a handful that I go back to again and again. I keep telling myself that I must get rid of alot of them. The're just taking up space. I bought a X Box 360 some months ago and I have to say none of the games have impressed me so far. I'm waiting for sept 8 when Dead Rising is released. Its the only game on next gen formats that I'm really looking forward to. And of course feb 2007 for Reident Evil 5.

I do. Especially true of movie spin-off games.
Too much attention to graphics and SFX, not enough attention to playability or originality. Same as music though - 90% of the mainstream is mass-produced cr@p, designed to make money for the big companies with minimum outlay. There are a few good designers out there though, you just need to sort through all the dross to find them

there are one or two that I wouldn't touch with a bargepoll and there are those who are obviously following a trend (thinking of movie spin offs etc). There are, however, a small group of games which are not only enjoyable to play but a joy to watch and can hold an intelligents person interest for more that 5 minutes without invoking female nudity!
