This will give you something to ponder. In outer space there is life. Bacteria. I may no be what we consider life but a life form none the less. I believe what some scientist say. When they said a meteorite containing Bactria hit earth. The change of climate, atmosphere, etc. Made it a perfect breeding ground and evolution took over.
I believe that man or group of men far ahead of their time. Realized without laws, that we would destroy one another. We needed guide lines and rules. The world would have been chaos. If people hadn't believed in a higher power watching over them.
Most people believe in some form of higher being. And even I do.
Not a religious nut, But I picked up the book of James one time. He spoke of wars, diseases and industry.

This one is more down to one's personal belief. They may be people who trust science, but also happen to be people who strongly believes in the bible. Whether science contradicts their beliefs is not an issue to them as long as they can live with it. A more appropriate question is why people can continue to deny the science of evolution and answering simply that "God did it".

As for Balou's answers on how life came to Earth, it is more of Abiogenesis than evolution. Abiogenesis is still a relatively new field and there are many theories as to how life came to Earth. The one suggested is just one of their many hypothesis. Evolution, on the other hand, deals with what happen after life appeared on earth.

Balou then talked about morals and the orgin of mythicism. Morals is not limited only to Christianity (in contrast to what most Christians would tell you) but to many different religions in all parts of the world. It is believed that mythicism came to be when people needed an explanation for something that they could not explain. ( For example in the bible you will read that Earth is flat, and it is surrounded by a body of water held by a firmament, and water would occasionally seep through the firmament thus explaining rainfall, and that the sun and moon orbits around the earth)

As mythicism expands people find it a very useful "tool" to control the behaviour of people, and developed laws and rules on what is the correct behaviour. Eventually from this came small communities of people who believed in it, then big communities, and finally country. (You can find that most of the earliest known civilisation are very religious, and that country laws goes hand in hand with the main religion)

My opinion is that the bible is somewhat symbolic. The bible was written by man, thru God. But man still had to interpret and of course there are always political issues. So, in simple terms, possibly God created a sample organism and it evolved to Adam. In that sense, God still created Adam. Same can apply to the "Big Bang". Again, just a thing to ponder.

means half the people are wrong... who cares? people are wrong all the time!

people are uneducated. My advice : believe only in science (not in superstition or in religion). It's the only thing that will be able to bring truth. The other 2 can only give you faith. not truth.
