The question in turn is, what are your goals with this treatment?
L'Oreal is a good Co.
A solid Co. Their products will slowly do what they say.
They put lots of money into their research BUT they are also controlled by the Laws of the Countries that their products are marketed in, just like any other cosmetics Co.
One of the main reasons that UK cosmetics don't have the punch of their American cousins. Which means that your £15 plus, dermabrasion cream isn't going to do much in one session. It's a commitment of purchaser loyalty for an extended period of time.
Shop around and compare - eg:
Lancome are doing a huge peel promo on a recent product launch, but if you dig around for details, you'll find that they are talking about a conservative 5%. (This is not going to turn you into Theda Bara over night! And to be frank, £100 for the kit - well ... there are other options out there. And at a fraction of the cost).
A dermabrasion session at the Sk:n stores costs about £45 to £55 a session.
So you want a peel, with a fast turn-around result.
You can do it but you really have to know what you are doing. (You can hurt your skin all too easily.) Just be careful.
It is possible to buy acids on-line with a higher % and much cheaper price-tag!
Consider other options such as a daily Glycolic product to correct problems. See a proper Dermatologist you trust and are comfortable with.
Face creams are very personal and subjective:
E45 - basic, works! NO SUNSCREEN
Garnier Range - ooh aah comfort factor when put on. NO SUNSCREEN
Olay - still reliable! SOME SUNSCREEN
Nivea - ditto, bit on the richer side. SOME SUNSCREEN
Estee Lauder - expensive but good.
Clinque - hhhmmm they have lanolin in their moisturiser
The list just goes on and on.
My advice being in the older than you category:
1. Keep your routine simple. Clean & cream twice a day.
2. Use a sunscreen daily.
3. Blitz your skin twice a year with a series of peels after the Summer and just before Spring.
4. Once a week use a stronger product like Retin A or your dermabrasion kit.

Hi...i discovered decleor products about 5 years now would not use anything else. The nutri-delice ultra moisturising cream is fantastic on older skin and does make a difference. Used with the aromaessese angelique oil you will see an improved complexion in a short time.
PS dont work for decleor just a very happy customer.

Just don't use soap on your face. I use Neutrogena for sensitive skin. I also use there anti wrinkle cream. You can buy this stuff at most drug stores. It cost a little more but we only have one face. I also like Clean & Clear oil free products. The Neutrogena has a complete line of items for the face. The lotion is also good and has some spf 15 in it. I love the stuff.....

Decleor, Liz Earlie, or Philosophy Products are a few that are excellent. Dont buy any brands from the high street, they are all full of crap and chemicals and will damage your skin. Liz Earle does a really good exfoliator and Philosophy does also. Have only used Decleor oils, so cant recommend what to use in their range but they will have one that is very good.

I've just bought some L'Oreal! and have yet to try it! I'll do it tonight and let you know if you like!
P.S. Doesn't it make you depressed that we're the same age as someone's Mum (see above!)

I really like the Avon Anew line...it uses fruit acids, and alpha hydrox acids...it's gentle on the skin and leaves it supersoft. I have dry skin, and it's very easy on it. Try it! Good luck!
