First, where your internet connection comes in and the computer that it is hooked to, is where you will need to hook up the wireless router. Then on the computer you want to place else where in the house, you connect the wireless adapter to, run your software that comes with each, and your up and running. Later you can add more computers wireless by just adding another wireless adapter.

Of course you can. My desktop is also connected to internet via wireless by UNWIRED. Or, I know you can access wireless internet by iBurst as well. But one thing, as a UNWIRED customer, I found my location cannot receive the signal at a good performance. The signal can be easily affected by weather (e.g storm or rain) in my location and not very stable. Maybe other area or suburbs would be better. It really depends on your locations. I think Telstra and Optus also provide wireless internet for laptops with wireless adaptors card. not sure about desktop here.

yeah. Check the computer in the back, and check to see if you have any PCI card slots ope, should be a white slot. Then buy a wireless router, and a wireless network card. I suggest DLink as they are an excellent brand, but whatever you want will do. If you dont have any pci slots avaiable, they do sell a USB adapter that just plugs into your usb port. Just install the card and download the software and your good to go.

Not a dumb question. Everyone starts out not knowing much about computers. My mother was afraid and didn't start using a computer until she was in her 70's. Now she has fun keeping in contact with me and friends by sending e-mails.

Yes, you can. I have a new computer, with xp on it, and I am using my old one, with 98se on it, upstairs. I had to buy a router, for the cable that comes into the house, and after I hooked the router up, had to get a wireless card for my old computer..It's really quite simple to hook up..

Yes, you will need to get a wireless PCI network interface card (NIC) and instert it into the slot in your motherbouard then install the drivers and software, it should automatically detect the card, the software and your network, if it is not secure.
