Oh gosh I agree. As a black woman, I can understand why P-Diddy and Jamie Foxx want a black James Bond, but why can't we black people create our own superheroes? Something that is actually action as opposed to some comedy nonsense?

Now I agree with Jamie in the idea of a sort of a Black James Bond, but that the current Bond should be Black wouldn't make sense. Bond, unlike XXX or something like that, is the same person in every movie, so he is expected to be a middle-aged, British male, and obviously, Caucasian. But there should be a Black person with a Bond-like calibur.

No way. James is a strong white male character with all the stereotypes that go with that. There are still quite a few actors to get through before a contemporary director wishes to examine white/black issues using an icon like James Bond as a platform. Give us a break.

What a joke!! How could James Bond be black?? I mean the books were written in what the 50's 60's about British Spies, errr when did black people start working as spies for Britain??
I agree why can't they make up their own super heros and inspire a generation of kids?? There was Shaft and Jackie Brown, but I can't recall a British Black hero, other then sports heros.
And for the record I'm of black parentage!!

I'd like to see a black James Bond, but definately not Diddy, Puffy, Sean....whatever he is going by ((he'll be using a symbol, like Prince soon)) Heck, I'd rather see Prince as Bond than him!
I'm voting for Morris Chestnut to be the next James Bond... I will own it!
To the previous poster, in the 50's we still had segregation.... it's time to start treating everyone as equals, don't you think?

as long as Bond continues to be british, i do no longer care what coloration he's. it fairly is a british character that provides James Bond his allure, that ought to nonetheless be completed with the aid of a black guy. P-diddy is loopy if he thinks he can play James Bond, he's no longer even on the brink of the clever and state-of-the-paintings Bonds of the previous.

Some how i see a black James Bond standing out in the crowd. Besides they would have to change too many lines. I want some ripple shaken not stirred. What are you deaf, Bond, James Bond!

A black James Bond. He is a fictional character. Changing his skin colour in the films in changing what was originally intended. Are they now going to ask for a black Harry Potter or a black Legolas in LOTR.

james bond is fictional as you know but if you stick with the original story then he is a white british man from scotland hence the reason sean connery was the first bond by asking him to be black diddy and foxx are just showing their racism funny how they didnt ask for blackmen to play starsky and hutch in the last movie p.s their not cool enough to play bond

james bond is set on a story. like how they were going to let him have parents in the film but then they couldn't as he is an orphan. they can't just changed the race of him as that doesn't show consistently in the story. i don't see why p-diddy and jamie foxx are making a fuss.
