I think is reason why this country is depressed. All they do is shout at and fight each over and with 18 million viewers being sublimaly fed these negative vibes, is it any wonder?

i agree,its scary how many people watch all these soaps and take them very seriously!!! my sister said to me yesterday i think carnation street's like real life,lol!!!! they should all be band as they are rubbish actors and they are playing rubish story lines!!

18 million viewers? That was the situation some time ago but there are now far less people getting depressed by Eastenders nowadays.

before 2 weeks ago I hadn't watched soaps like Eastenders for 3 months. TV sucks now.

i have a feeling that the grand plan is to have all the negs displayed so we can look at it and feel that well at least our lives arnt that bad
marx said somthing like religion is the opium of the people
it is my view that today tv espetialy soaps are the valium of the masses
all there to replace real feelings and experiance and to give us a feeling of belonging to a club and having somthing to talk about
soon this job will be replaced by the web (oh perhaps it already has)

Most people know that Eastenders is fake and that none of it really happens. Not everyone watches it. Y not blame Corrie street instead?

Haven't watched it since Den & Angie were in Venice. Its a soap to slash your wrists to. I can't identify with the characters whatsoever.

yep, deffo. Its the little things though I dont get though, like whenever anyone depressed, why do they go and sit on ""that"" bench?? And wait for someone to come over?

i disagree. watching eastenders makes me feel so much better cos i cant find comparisons about my life with that lot!

urm, could be..could be, maybe it enetrs our mind with out us noticing....but its good because sometimes it make you more aware of what could be happening in the world.
