I believe government, can be used to make peoples lives better. I believe that we can have economic growth and protect the environment. That we can promote equality among all races and ethnic backgrounds. That we have an obligation to help the less fortunate among us. To fight only when we have just cause, but to spare no effort when we do fight. I believe that we must respect the individual, but that there are some things that we can only accomplish collectively. For these and other reasons, I am a Democrat.

In 1996 I was making 25.00 an hour as a Network Administrator, now, in 2006, I am making 9.00 an hour as a Security Officer. Bush has allowed the business interest to gouge the people. The news tells us that raw oil is going up, and we pay more at the pump, but Exxon post a record gain at 10 Billion dollars. I think that is enough of a reason to become a Democrat.

I think there is a certain idealism in being a democrat that I like. I think republicans are the counter to the democracts in that their ideas are more practical and focus on realist views.

For instance, I like the financial approaches of the two parties. Democrats will take extra money obtained by a surplus and try to create new programs with it that do noble things (hopefully).

Republicans will look at a surplus and say give it back to the people and tax them less, if we're generating that much money.

Both approaches to me are reasonable, I just think that the idealist nature of doing something bigger is where my head is right now.

But I respect republicans cause what if a nutball like me gets elected and I want to create some super program that just wont work. We need the balance..

Sorry to all those whom read my post and said (boy is this simplified)

:)

Because I was a Democrat before I was able to walk. Because the older I get the more I believe that the Democratic commitment to our country is reflected in their agenda which emphasizes the security of our nation, strong economic growth, affordable health care for all Americans, retirement security, honest government, and civil rights. Besides George Bush strengthens my conviction that Republicans are a threat to my country’s wellbeing. Plus every Republican I have ever gone out with was lame in bed. Oh, yeah democrats do make better lover since we are not so consumed with hatred and thought of war!!

I am a liberal,I believe that people come before the government.I believe in giving help to those truly in need,I believe in my country,I still get chills when I hear the National Anthem and see the flag,I respect other humans and their different cultures,I support our armed forces, but do not want or support an unnecessary,un winnable war. I fight for the causes of those that can not fight for themselves..I am for immigration when its legal.I believe in the values set forth my the democratic party,I supported Bill Clinton and despite his flaws,he was a great president. We need change in this country ,the sickening smell of racism, intolerance and hate permeates the air of this great country.Vote... my democratic and liberal friends. And republicans do you really want things to continue as they are today. I don't think any intelligent person does. While you may call my views simplistic and idealistic it is how I truly feel and the fact it seems republicans feel the need to inject sarcastic remarks into every questioned asked.I didn't say one bad thing against republicans but in their unasked for answers they try to trash others ideas.another reason I am a liberal.and I VOTE

I'm more Democrat than Republican, although I vote for the person more than I vote a party.I believe in freedom of choice.I don't think the government should be involved in a woman's personal freedoms.I also care about the environment.Republicans give it lip service but they're so in deep with special interest groups and big industry they won't bite the hand that feeds them.I'm also a believer in healthcare reform.A person shouldn't have to decide between food and their prescriptions.I disagree with the decision to go to Iraq.I pray for the safe return of our troops, but I feel they are being killed for no reason. We can't help them and we're never going to change them. It's futile.Lastly, because of George W,I don't think I can vote Republican for a long time.He has been the worst president in the history of the country and I greatly despise his arrogance and stubborness to reason.

Let's get some answers because I too am curious. A lot of people who I talk to don't really know why they just say oh I just don't like Bush or they are far-left and the democrat party is more in line for them.

Democrats are Godly people. We have good morals and decency on our side. We also do not support Republican supported debt as far as the human eye can see, debt on working class tax payers for the next 30 years. We are Conservatives.
We also support the Constitution and the Bill Of Rights,we respect the oath taken on the Bible to "protect and defend it". Not trash it as Republicans have done for 6 years.

Although I vote for more Democrats then Republicans I would consider myself a Independent because I have never voted a straight ticket and never will. I vote in the Democratic primaries and try to make my vote count. Pulling one lever in the booth just doesn't cut it.

We democrats made millions on slavery, we dropped the bomb on Japan, why work for when someone else already has it. Tax them and take it from them. We love to use people and what ever resources are out there that some else has made. We know when human life is created. Of course we know that all war is fought for oil. We know all and our track record proves it with out a doubt. Peace & Love all.
