Have you read the 5th book? Remember that the prophecy said a boy born in the end of july will defeat the dark lord (or something like that) but if you really think about it neville was born at the end of july as well so just maybe Potter will live and Neville dies. But no one knows just yet!

every one keeps saying he will die because JK Roling dosen't want people to be able to buy the rights to her book and there to be another harry potter, but I really hope he lives

no... it's another character... though enough of one that the potter series may be effected.
it's all hype.. something to drive in people to buy the next book. it'll be ok. potter will be around a little while yet unless the author wants to kill off the series and go elsewhere with her novels.

I think that Harry won't die. I think he or somebody will kill Voldemort and when Voldemort dies, (and since part of Harry is from Voldemort, ie the scar, parseltongue) Harry's scar will disappear because that part of him died and he won't be able to speak Parseltongue anymore. Maybe that won't happen, but hey, it's a thought. :-)

depend on the author....
in most cases, the main character will survive and probably live a recluse life.
but rumour have it that the author wanted Harry Potter dead.

I think he won't die coz when the news came out that he would.. a lot of HP Fans went mad! And JK Rowling wouldn't want that,,

no he dies in 7th book i was watching the news its sucks and she said she doesnt know they r going to make the movies all the way to 7
