When my kids were young, we always went camping, and the New Forest was the best place, followed by Bridport in Dorset. The latter place is superb as its very central for days out, we didnt just set up camp and stay there! We travelled all over the area, from Bridport its easy to get to Somerset, hampshire, of course, Dorset and into Devon, so there are stacks of places and things to do, as well as walks etc around where we were camping!

I go camping all the time, but, I can't be arsed to tell you (nothing personal)
OK, when I go camping, I go on a proper site with a club/arcade/indoor pool......you get the jist. Take a BBQ and loads of beer, and go for gold.
Happy Camping.
Love you loads, Cosmo.

Drink yourself stupid everynight as you try to justify communal shower blocks and toilets that stink. That aside wonder at the marvel that nature is or just check into a Hotel and order room service, maybe make a tent in the room.

visit the area around you,you dont say if you are with kids or not.
If you are with kids they might have a play park at the site you find the kids find mates quickly and leave you to go play.
If you are with no kids bring some drink and have a bar be que invite some other campers over if you wish.
visit local shops and pubs and sightsee.
bring a book for quiet time .
