PORTUGAL : Ricardo, great keeper, able to block 3 penalty shots, unlike buffon (no offense)... Luis Figo, great captain, good player...Deco, great playmaker, able on both sides on the field...C.Ronaldo, good looking, great young player, too bad he dives too much, and a real playboy (hate those part)
GERMANY: Miroslav Klose, my favorite player, and forever will be, good looking, nice ( I think ), and great striker...Philipp Lahm, able to play great despite his body size and condition (also cute)...Schweinsteiger,great young player...
But the truth is that I like ALL of German players... I personally think all of the players are balanced...
Go Germany!!!!!! Go!!

From Portugal, it has to be Ricardo, because he saved them in the penalty shootout versus England, no doubt, he is an amazing goalkeeper. Portugal missed two penalties, so if Ricardo wasn't there, it would have been a different story.
From Germany, it has to be Klose because he can score terrific goals that are quite difficult to score from the position he is in at the time. He has a great sense of aim, and makes an excellent striker, that's why he won Golden Shoe.

Portugal: even though I REALLY dislike him, I have to admit that Cristiano Ronaldo is their most skilled player but because of his diving and childish antics he can't be the best. I would say that it is Maniche or Pedro Pauleta.
Germany: Miroslav Klose is probably the best (I say this based on his 2006 FIFA World Cup performance) but Bernd Schneider is my Favourite German player

Ronaldo for Portugal. Best player if only he could stay on his feet.
Ballack or Klose for Germany. Ballack may not be the best but most influential.

Portugal - as much as I do not like him it is C. Ronaldo as he has bags of skill and a great shot/free-kick. I am sure he will take on board the bad press he has had and learn that he could be more effective if he stays on his feet - he also needs to pass, rather than take on impossible shots, then he will be world class.
Germany - Klose - he sets them up as well as being a deadly finisher.
