In terms of the most deaths to humans it would have to be the Female Anopheles Mosquito. These are the zoonotic vector of malaria, the most fatal disease on the planet...so something as small as a mosquito can be more dangerous than all the megafauna of africa combined!

It depends how you define it. If you're just going by statistics (how many people killed per year) you'll get one answer (because of differing exposure rates - in other words, certain dangerous creatures are not found all over), but if you're talking about which animal is most hostile and most likely to kill you if one of them and one of you are alone together in a confined space, that's a whole different question.

According to many online sources, the most dangerous animal - if you go by the second definition - is the hippo.

I read somewhere that it is the Cape Buffalo. The reason is that it is impossible to escape an attack because the entire herd will surround you and trample you to death. A solitary predator can sometimes be evaded or injured to end the attack, but there is nothing you can do to any individual Cape Buffalo that will make the others stop attacking.

Mosquito and the hippopotamus.
Mosquito for bringing malaria.
Hippo for the most attacks with deadly ending on humans.

If you count humans they win by a landslide of course. Traffic being the #1 reason of death.
