are there any animals in the world where both male and female are treated equal?
as there is a tend to there being a dominent sex

Some species of fish (but not all, as some male species have more brilliant colors that are more sought after by owners) are owned equally because they have no outstanding visible differences, like tetras, for instance.

However, fish are the most often neglected animals kept as pets, regardless of their gender.
