Make sure you can do the job or show you have the ability to learn what the job is about and ensure you have examples of when you learnt this type of thing and examples of when you did things like what the company would be employing you to do.

This is on top of looking smart and presentable, having a good firm handshake (without being aggressive) and having good body language - look at the people interviewing you, do not take up a closed stance etc ...

Alot of places are concerned about your past places of employment, what your attendance record is like and how many times you were late for work. I really feel like I got my new job due to the fact that they were very impressed when I told them I had been working since I was 14 years old (I'm now 45) and I had only been late to work 1 time and my attendance while not perfect was still very impressive.

Always remember, you have 7 seconds to create 11 impressions, so when you get yourself ready, think of the impresison you are trying to create, however, be as natural as you can, if you try too many airs and graces, you'll be rumbled very quickly indeed! Know the company you are being interveiwed at, take print outs from the web if you ahve doen your research. Try to find out what the companys 'mission statement' is, and what the companys' aims are in the furture.Take your time in answering questions, and make notes, taking them in with you to help jog your memory, except don't use them for the simple things eh? You should know your name etc...And dont forget to smile!

Make them remember you having something to remember you by.

The bit where they ask if you have any questions is a good time to ask them a question that will make them remember you,

In this part of the interview as them:

Whats their favourite colour
What superhero power they would like

something along these lines and ONLY at the end of the interview when they ask if you have any questions. Make sure you have covered all the serious stuff first.

Good Luck

Bright and genuine smile to greet your interviewer, followed by a firm handshake and say,'Hi,how are you' before they get the chance to say anything.........it will throw them just a little and you'll be remembered.
Most importantly, when they ask you questions, repeat some of them -not all- as that will make you look dim, but repeat a few before you give your answer.
Also, if you don't understand a question, ask what they mean rather than try to stumble your way through and make yourself look foolish.
........And good luck!

As every one has said first impressions is key. when they ask you a question look into their eyes, not just the person who asked the question, but id there is a panel look into all of their eyes as you answer the question. Secondly be pro-active search out the Company's History and what they do, the Pensions, medical etc. But most of all be Confident.

Always be on time. It shows that the job is very important to you. Also, dress for the part. Wear dressy clothing--it shows respect. Finally, research the company--it shows you're not just wanting a job, but that you're interested in that specific corporation.
