I have tried everything to get rid of this pest. My home page has been blocked telling me to install this system doctor crap, I keep getting 2 pop ups, and other funny things on my pc. Nortons, ad-aware etc will not touch it. The above link claims to get rid of it, but is it all part of the same scam???

You can check the rogue list at the end of my post.
75% of "so called protection software" is Malware itself, weather its free or pay.

Your infestation may be too severe to remove with the following protection software but you can try it first before trying more desperate methods.

At the very least you can use them to prevent this from happening next time. AND safe computing is the best prevention.

I use all of the following Free software with Windows XP SP2 and Internet Explorer with MSN toolbar and the pop-up blocker turned on and have never had a single problem with my computer sense Microsoft came out with SP2. (knock on wood.) (And be sure to keep Windows and the following software Updated)

The best Anti-virus is: AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition. (www.grisoft.com)http://www.grisoft.com/doc/289/lng/us/tpl/tpl01

The Best Spyware defense is: SpyBot Search and Destroy (http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html)<--English version

AND: AdAware SE (www.lavasoft.com)
AND Spyware Blaster (http://www.javacoolsoftware.info/kb/)
The best Firewall besides the one that comes with Windows is: Zone Alarm (http://www.zonelabs.com/store/content/co... or just (www.zonelabs.com) and select the FREE version.

These are all FREE and are all that are required. There is no reason to pay for this kind of software, except to give a donation to the writers if you can.
ALL the above programs are recommended and should be run on a regular basis. With some the free versions they must be run manually.

The best way to avoid getting any Malware (virus, Trojan's, spyware, etc) is to practice safe computing. Microsoft and many others have countless articles on the subject of safe computing. (something I think should be taught in schools)

If you can get it to microsoft's security page. Run the tools on there if possible. Did you try your operating systems help page. You don't have to go through your homepage to get there. One of those stupid reasons I always keep the help program, it's get me to microsoft without going through normal channels. Good Luck. If possible please let me know what works for you. I enjoy learning all I can about these wonderful machines...Good LUCK!!!

Try a spyware software like Windows Defender
http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/spyware/software/default.mspx

Or search and destroy http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/spyware/software/default.mspx

Or Ad-Aware Personalhttp://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/

Or all of them if you wish, it really does sound like some osrt of spyware, so download them and run them, afterwards tell me what happened?
