Yes, it does. I met my husband, who is eight months younger than me, when we were in school. He was a year behind me but we had English together because I had to take my Junior English over. We would finish our work then the teacher would let us go to the library. I started taking him home after class (English was our last class of the day) and it just felt so...natural for us to be together. One day we were walking out of class and he put his arm around my waist and said "I think I'm falling in love with you" The night I graduated from high school, he moved in with me on one condition from his mother-that he would graduate high school, and I lived up to my promise to her.
Since we lived right down the street from the high school, over the years, late at night, we would go for a walk and somehow we would always end up there. In fact, that was where my husband took me the night he proposed to me, and three years later our daughter was concieved under the bleachers of the football stadium, and that was where I took my husband to tell him the news that he was soon to be a daddy.
After all these years we often go out of our way just to pass by the high school, and when we do, we look at each other and say "That's where it all began"
So yes, I have fond memories of my high school...it's where I began living.

Driving by my old high school brings mixed feelings. I would like to go back and do it all over again sometimes... then sometimes I'm so glad it's over.

I went through a lot when I was in school, and the building was like an escape for me. Yeah, I caught a lot of crap from people for being ' the fat girl,' but in the long run I was happier there than at home.

I recently went to my ten-year reuinion. I was uncomfortable, but sentimental all in the same. Weird.

I only drive by my high school once a year or so because I don't live there anymore, so yeah, it brings back really happy memories. I had a blast!

How funny! I just answered one of your other questions. This one appealed to me too. I have driven by my old high school several times and it gives me goose bumps. The school was built in the 1920's and it is still open though it has been updated. The school, my town has totally changed. It seems smaller, way more congested and really old. I probably have been back only a handful of times, I graduated in 69, so it is really a blast from the past moment.

I had mostly good memories in High School, but driving by it usually sparks me to finally come up with a good comeback to the insults hurled at me two decades ago. Yeah, that's useful.

I usually just chuckle at the sign that at one time actually read "Bored of Education" because the administration thought that was how it was spelled. (guffaw) They've since painted over it, but the memory is still there.

Well, it used to.... Great piece of American architecture built in the 1920's but that was erased in the early 1980's with a re-do and elimination of the grand stairway to the main entrance and a tearing off a wonderful facade. Some how all the glass and steel just doesn't ring be true to your school any longer.

Actually, they tore down my old HS building, and my old GS building, and my old JH building is now being used to store junk in. Too bad. We all get old, I suppose. But sex is a happy memory,
