Of course married men have female friends behind their wives backs. How else could we have female friends. This is perfectly acceptable as long as the wife remains unaware.

I think it is perfectly fine that married men have female friends as long as they are just female friends and nothing more. Keeping it from his wife though is unacceptable. It gives the impression more is going on.

Maybe he does tell her, and you don't know it. I work in the school system as well and my girlfriend does too, but we both realize we had friends of the opposite sex before we met and we didn't let our relationship stop us from talking to our friends.
