I am guessing it had something to do with rap because it sure was not made by modeling. But I had never heard of him before the Flavor of Love show.

WOW! Welcome out of the hole u have been living in. Flava was the first to "grill" out his entire mouth. He rocked a HUGE clock around his neck, and took blows at racism in the 80's. (Not that he is racist) "911 is a Joke!" is one of the first things I can remember, but there is much more. Plus, he was on the Surreal Life with Bridgette Neilson (if that is how u spell her name) and he is not afraid to hit a woman that hits him.
