I dont do it in public either because I know better than to do that, but I dont know???. Anyway, I'll wait for a specialist to comment and let US know what's wrong with us.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with it. What you are doing in private is called, "loud meditation" and it is perfectly OK.
In the olden days, before cell phones became popular, many Psychologists advised their patients to carry toy version of cell phones. Whenever they felt the urge to talk to themselves in public, they could grab their dummy cell phone and talk away. No one would suspect a thing (Unless there was a dire emergency and some one needed to call the police or an ambulance and went, "Oh hey, could we borrow your phone for a sec? Someone needs help badly!" In which case, you were screwed. Of course you could pretend that your battery died at the very moment. Still, what are the odds, eh!).
So its perfectly normal to "chat" with yourself. So go for it!

Since you are saying that you are having conversations with yourself, it's clear that you KNOW what you are doing. No, that is not a problem. If you thought you were talking to the spirit of King Tut or your grandmother, that _could_ be a problem, but self-verbalization is simply a mechanism that some people use to help them clarify their thoughts. At LEAST you are thinking. That' puts you ahead of too much of the population!

I think that it is normal to talk to yourself. Every time we have thoughts that we do not express out loud that is essentially doing. Now, is it normal for you to have a full fledged conversation with yourself. I do not think that it is. You cannot have a 2 party conversation with only one person.Talk to a doctor he/she will be able to tell you what is going on and if there is anything to be concerned about.

I think is ok to be able to have a conversation with your self once in a while …There are many people out there who can’t even think about being along for ½ hour because they are not capable of facing their own demons… As long as you have a healthy social life, meaning, you have friends and good relation with family members etc… I don’t see anything wrong with it.

I think if you are by yourself it is fine. I do it and I know tons of people who do it as well, but if you do it all the time and use it to avoid having conversations with real live human beings, then you have a problem.

It is not abnormal but if you say it is your problem you must be doing too much of it. You should go out and reach someone to talk to. You can phone your friends and family and talk a common subject. You can go to places to meet people and converse. You should also meet with the person you are imagining talking to at home.

No no no. Its not bad! You are lonely, or just so bored, you talk to yourself. My little bros and sis do it all the time! I also have done it also. Its not bad, you just ran out of space in your head for all of those random thoughts. It just proves you have a mind full of imagination and creativity!

No becasuse some things need to be talk out before you make an action that may be wrong. I talk things out all the time with myself to see if its the right thing to do.
