I only buy humorous cards. I will occassionaly look at the mushy ones, and then remember why I don't buy them: They are just too sappy and I would never "talk" like that in real life. And so, I go back and buy the funny one.

Always buy Humorous cards for special occasions. Only buy the mushy ones for "just because" reasons.

I would have to say half and half:
For our Anniversary I always purchase the traditional "Sentimental" card for the serious /loving side of our marriage and also a "Funny" card for the fun /crazy part that we have.
For family, friends on special occasions I rotate each year with a sentimental , then a funny. Sometimes I will do both!Just depends on the card.
Also send "Just Because"to my daughter, grandson (once again- combination of both) and put then in my husbands briefcase and sons backpack every now and then ( funny ones to "Brighten their Day")
I really should own stock in 2 major greeting card companies!!!!

I always buy 2 cards for my husband mom and father for birthdays or holidays.. one funny and one mushy.. for everyone else i just get a humorous card.

Depends on the person....I like funny cards though. Most of the mushy cards say the same thing.

humorous...i think we all need a good laugh, especially on a birthday or special occasion...if i could afford it, i would send a humorous card out everyday to all of my girlfriends just to give them that daily needed laugh...

depends on who i am buying for. my boyfriend always gets the romantic cards that bring tears to my eyes and other family members usually get the funny cards
