It is a Bruce Springsteen song called Blinded by the Light. You will often hear it performed rather badly by Manfred Mann . The song appears on Springsteens first album Greetings From Asbury Park
Springsteens correct line is " Cut loose like a deuce another runner in the night." A deuce is the quintessential hot rod. A 1932 Ford coupe with some monster V-8 engine squeezed into it. The Beach Boys also sang ?bragged about it in their song Little Deuce Coupe.
