Sorry, I'm from London.
Paris is far more beautiful.
Paris you can walk for miles, but London you need to take some sort of Transport to get to the different Touristic areas.
Also you can eat better in Paris.
London has got good food, but it's so expensive .
The main source of good restaurants are the Chinese annd Indians.
For me there's no competition

hy in the world would anyone ask a vague question like that? Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. What is preferable to you might not be to another. I am an English-speaking person and I have family in England and family in France. I love history, the museums, beautiful countrysides. Even though I love the Lakes District, around the Thames etc, I find the architecture in London is very in-congruent--that is putting it mildly. On the other hand, France, with its Louvre, has fantastic architectural balance, wonderful restaurants, easy metro system, wonderful art galleries. This might sound strange: whenever I am in London, I try to take a few days to go across to France, mainly to have some wonderful meals. For people who enjoy very good food and wine--London is a hard sell. Theatre--the advantage is if you speak English; otherwise the cities are balanced. Food--no comparison--Paris wins hands down. Shopping--except for Harrods, London is good for Antiques. Teas: Parisians offer wider varieties of herb and spice teas. I am sorry "Earl;" your type of "Grey" tea is not my cup of tea.

People are much friendlier there, especially towards Americans. That is speaking from experience, not just the stereotype. Also, there is just something about riding the tubes and the doubledecker buses. The whole culture there is amazing. Changing of the guards, Tower London, Westminster, Big Ben, the list goes on and on. I absolutely love Paris, but London will always have a special place in my heart! :)

I also live in London and for me Paris is so much nicer (would be ideal if parisians were a tad more friendly - although we Londoners could benefit from being nicer to tourists too!). Paris offers great food, great service (lacking in London) not as expensive and most of it is in walking distance. Give me Paris anyday.
