actually the most popular choice is to donate your old cellphone to a homeless shelter....even if the service isn't on they distribute the phones and people can still use them to dial 911 in case of an emergency......thats what I do with mine :o)

You can possibly trade it in for credit. Some domestic abuse charities take them and program them so they can only call a few emergency numbers - look into that.

most companies like verizon and sprint/nextel give you money back for phones...or credit on your bill...try going to the company to see how much they'll be willing to give you
