I suspect you're using windows xp using NTFS file system..
convert your file system to FAT32 and see how those games will work..
Some gaming files installed in your pc require to modify system files which NTFS prohibits.
Trust me, I used to help my friend with his computer gaming shop before..
don't listen to PC DOCTOR he doesn't know a thing, its common sense dude, why would you have problems with directx9?..it's pretty obvious games have a system warning that they need directx9 to be installed, and almost all games that require directx, has installers included with them.
The same goes with hardware compatibilities, all of the games have their pc requirements in their boxes or cases..
He's making you look dumb..
10 years of experience is nothing w/out common sense..
goodluck..

lack of information, u forgot the important part, ur ram size+ there are thousands of Geforce 128, u have to specify one.
I think games that could not run on ur system completely this means there's something wrong with the game itself.
this is completely different from the games are running but slow, in slow case u may run the game at the lowest resolution and grapthics options like(anti aliasing- sync - shaders - shadows, etc).

As now a days every of the game coming from any company is graphically more active and real in looks......as they have extended their requirements as now almost every 3d electronic games need DIRECT X of version 9.0 which is the latest one along with graphic card that u already have.
Or check ur ROM speed if recommended to play when the DISC is On the ROM.
Above all check the windows requirement as games best works on win98 and winxp sp2. also if u r trying to play Games of PLAYSTATION thn' install a software names Bleem....
all this will surely rectify ur all game problems.....as ths was all the problem i hav faced past 2 yrs now i play thm all......

Perhaps they are OLD games that don't have the capability to display or play with the new technology. This is esp. true with the old DOS kids games.
