-Lucy

-The dimes (Less volume, therefore more in 1/2 a trunk)

-4%

1) Lucy. For example, if N=10 years old, M=20 and L=30

2) 1/2 trunk of dimes. 1 dime is worth 2 nickles and the volume of a dime is less than that of a nickle. That means that half a trunk full of dimes will be more than half the quantity of nickles.

3) I don't think this is a simple 24% divided by 6 days. Each day will be adding to the percentage increase from the day before. I don't recall the equations off hand. I'm sure someone else will have the answer to that one. Be sure to pick one that takes this into account.

Lucy would be the oldest...use something simple like Nancy is 12 which would mean Mary is 24 and Lucy would be 36.

Dimes..since they're worth more and take up less space.

4% a day x 6 days would be = to 24%.

It's been a while since I was in a math class so my confidence level with these answers is admittedly lacking.

Lucy is the oldest, She is three times the age of Nancy and Mary is two times the age of Nancy.

I do not know.

4 % a day will lead to 24 % a week.

Others have answered a and b - fwiw, I agree with the answers for a, but don;'t know specifics about nickels and dimes (being a Brit, I can't remember handling them)

However, for c, I'd suggest that Dave would need to increase his productivity each day by 24% (assuming you're talking over a "normal" day) to increase it by the same amount over a regular week

Lucy is oldest (M=2N L=3N)

The dimes would be worth more because they are smaller in size, so half a trunk of dimes would have a bigger number of coins.

4%?

1 - They are all the same age, 29 (and will be for the next few birthdays.)

2 - Neither. The cost in gas to haul that weight around in your trunk eliminates their value.

3 - Dave's not here man.

Let Mary's age be x.Nancy's is 2 times that of Mary's i.e.2x.Lucy's is 1/3 that of Nancy's so,2x/3.
Therefore,Nancy is the eldest of all.

2. How big is the trunk?
3. Does he enjoy working for this employer?
