if you're putting together a lot of images, photographers can promote through online database & distributors like getty's images getty's images, imagebank & istockphoto.
Photographer earns a revenue from each sale. Getty's have major client accounts with major publishers, magazines & end users who want to buy specific photos for marketing campaigns. each image costs according to how it's distributed & size, but a generic image suitable for a website is sold for about £60. 4x6" image for an A5 DM campaign = £300, bigger campaign/ image may go up to £1500+
istockphoto.com aim for the volume distribution. more people buy lots of images for a low price (licence fee only, no royalties on usage), but maybe you can promote through both companies?
otherwise, i've seen big prints on ebay, which is a cheaper distribution option than trying to convince a photo gallery to promote, and i'd guess they'd ask for a healthy cut of 50-60% of each sale.
Oh yeah, if it's juicy, I've heard Paparazzi selling 3 images exclusively of Mariah Carey on hols in a bikini for £15K to a tabloid.

Have you tried getting a stall at local car boot sales? Or speak to smaller shops in your area to see if they would let you sell through them for a cut.

Set up your own website or become a Ebay seller. You could also set up your own market stall.
