Also how long are they ment to take before they dissolve???

Depending on your surgery, depends on what type of nylon threads they use.
Mine were purple, for my hysterectomy & have come out a darkish tan color.
As the body discharges the stitches they can come out looking like discharge.

Mine were black (I was given the information after my operation - nice!!) and to dissolve fully I was informed it would take two to four weeks. In places such as the mouth, they dissolve more quickly.

clear-- therefore after they dissolve they wouldn't leave a film to form bacteria to set up infection
