How do I learn to speak fluently?

The first thing to remember is that fluency is not as important as communicating. Speaking out loud is for the purpose of being understood by the listeners. Web sites can tell you about proper English, but they can't teach you how to speak to others or how to pronounce the words.

Now, to speak English in front of an audience, just relax. Most people can relate to your situation and want you to do well. They may be in your place very soon.

Don't apologize to anybody about not speaking English very well. Try to speak to several people each day in English. Make small requests like where to find something or where to eat.

Practice reading out loud. Go to the comics page in the newspaper. The stories are short and the words are usually simpler. Try to read as if you are the character saying the words.

Now, go have fun with the English language.

First learn the vocabulary.Read little comics, and then simple books. These will give you an idea of how to express certain things. Then begin speaking with your friends, even if they deride.
Practice at home. Watch some movies, and some serials.Always think of how you will express certain situations when given a chance.

Don't know about six months, but I learnt (taught myself) German for nine months. Even though it's not the best, I can speak it quite well (Germans say so, lol), however I make plenty of grammatical errors since I didn't pay much attention to the grammar while I was learning. Oh and I live in Britain. Since you live in Germany it should be much easier.

the frist thing u should do is give away ur hesitations to speak in english. Then believe that u can speak well.try Try to converse with ur friends in english.if they tease u dont become deserted.Try to speak the matter that u have spoken in ur mother tongue in english within urself.try to think in positive attitude.
