dimension 3: height

Those three dimension describe space in three linear ways. Time moves in a linear way too. So say you have a point in space.

That point can move in any of the three dimensions (up/down, left/right, back/forward), but it is also moving through time from one second to another.

You can use these 4 dimensions to show where something is at any point in space AND time.

Any movement requires the use of time as a descriptor, since you can't move six feet without time moving as well.

The equation = x^2 +Y^2 +Z^2=R^2 represents the 3 dimensions of space which is spherical.
If an object moves with a certain speed V=distance traveled divided by time, we can calculate time in terms of velocity and distance. Thus T= distance /velocity.
Time in space is non-linear that means it does not follow a straight line relationship it follows an hyperbolic curve.

Time is rather a Quantity rather than a Dimension.

If you make it a dimension as in the Lorentz equation of transfomation ,than it is an imaginary dimension. This is what they call the 4th dimension.

The three dimensions define and delineate the universe we know and experience. They define all of the possible directions we are able to travel. Time, as the fourth dimension, recognizes the fact that we experience time as a linear journey.

However, the dimensions are not limited to four. Some schools of thought put the number of dimensions at twelve. Our brains are unable to grasp this concept except on an intellectual level.
Look at it this way. Two dimensions are like a photograph. If some life form were able to live in a two dimensional universe, they would be unable to grasp the reality of our life in three dimensions, aside from the shadows we would cast on their universe. Likewise, we three dimensional creatures are unable to grasp the reality of the fourth dimension, ASIDE FROM THE SHADOWS THEY CAST. What, you may ask, is such a thing? Google Teseract, and behold the proof that more dimensions exist.

You want it simple? Here goes: A quarterback for a (American) football team needs to consider all 4 dimensions when he throws a pass: He has to get the ball there at the right width on the field, the right depth and the right height for the receiver to catch it. He also has to get the right "timing". If he misses any of those four dimensions, it's an incomplete pass.

The fourth dimension is generally taken as TIME. The other three dimensions are HEIGHTH, WIDTH AND DEPTH. That is to say that a physical object has all three dimesions. It has heighth, it has depth and it has width. However, in order for it to exist at all it must exist for a period of time. It must exist for a day, a week, a year or even only a picosecond but it must exist for a period of time however long or short. If it lacks the dimension of time, that is, it doesn't exist for a period of time then it doesn't exist at all. Therefore, for an object to exist it must have the dimensions of heighth, width, depth and time.

Einstein says E=MC2
now E is Energy, M is Matter and C is a constant. The constant chosen is the speed of light, which is the distance light travels in a period of time, thus time is vital in determining the rate of energy conversion and so we have the relationship between time and matter, and matter takes up the other three dimensions, QED, PJ Ireland

The fourth dimension is a misnomer. It is not a dimension seperate from the three dimensions we are composed of. It is what happens to the three dimensions of our world when a mass begins accelerating.

Everything in our physical world is composed of physical time. This is not an abstract thought. Because everything in our universe is composed of electromagnetic energy, the value of "c" exists as the basis of all mass and energy.

Take a look at the following and you shall see that the above is true:

E = mc2, energy is composed of mass accelerated by the value of c2. c2 becomes the basis of energy.

m = E/c2, again, the substance of mass is c2.

c2 = E/m, is that of a physical field of time, or a gravitational field. It is subject to the same values as those forming mass and energy.

What happens as a mass moves, is its overall frequency increases in direction of travel. This energy increase is proportional to the decrease of energy at right angles to it ("hf" in both instances). Because mass movement, in value, is the same as that of electromagnetic energy (hf, again in both instances), mass shortens in direction of movement to allow for the increase of frequency in that direction.

A gravitational field is fourth dimensional in the purest sense of the concept (if you wish to consider something that is 4th dimensional). It is a field of time, moving at the speed of c. All mass has three dimensional time values of less than c. At the speed of light mass converts into electromagnetic energy, and physical, three dimensional time no longer exists.

If you have an interest, I have a Yahoo blog "timebones" that explains this. "What is time?" would of interest.

1.) length
2.) width
3.) depth
4.) time

the time dimension is at what time the shape was that shape. eg. if the moon was hit with an asteroid, it would change shape after it was hit- there fore having a 4th dimension

scientists belive there are 10 dimensions all folded up in the universe wich we can't understand
