i have a sis 730 motherboard with onboard graphics, now in the bios you have a option to set the shared memory, and it goes up to 64mb
does that mean i can have 64mb graphics, cause i know the onboard graphics have agp acceleration, were as my radeon 9250 pci-bus graphic card(128mb)has not
so is it worth me using the onboard graphics over the radeon 9250,as i will loose 64mb but gain agp acceleration
the board has a agp slot(x2,x4 compatible),but i havent got a agp card yet,so that will be my next upgrade
any ideas

Well there is 2 answers in ur case:
1.U will continue to use On-Board video :advantage is that u save some money but u will get poor performance in most games (onboard video steal ram from computer and is low freqvency ddr1 memory)(maybe u dont play games)
2.U will use radeon 9250 wich use separate hi speed memory and have a better GPU (faster) then onboard SIS video card ....and better performance in games.
Feel free to contact me on yahoo messenger if you want.

That will give you 64MB graphics, but this memory is taken from your overall RAM installed in the PC, therefore reducing the amount of memory available for the operating system. The only real reason to use the AGP acceleration over your PCI card, is if you are doing serious graphics work or playing a lot of games!

upgrade to an AGP card ASAP. There is no performace to be gained using built in video cards. Typically they will be the cheapest chip set money can buy and are included as a stop gap to allow you to quickly get your machine operational. A decent AGP video card is not that expensive these day and will really make your machine fly

you in all likelihood does not see plenty distinction as you do no longer likely run heavy 3-D pictures. something that doesn't run with an onboard video card might in all likelihood no longer run regardless of in case you max out the reminiscence settings.

to get the effect you want out of your video card you will have to buy a new one and turn your on board video off. You can also buy more memory that is cheaper than card.
