Conscious means being awake/aware. Conscientious means being thoughtful and considerate, and the un makes them the opposite of those meanings.

In other words, when you're unconscientious, you just do things your way. You don't care if it's right or wrong. Whereas, when you're unconscious you do not have any idea of anything going on around you or you have totally blacked out.

Unconscious is a state of unawareness of what is going on. Unconscientious means making very little effort in doing something.
