Your friend may be just either kidding or It can be possible. However you need to scan your computer right now(actually you should scan computer once a week) to see if there is any virus. Then save evey file or program you need. Finally format your computer if you want to.
If the computer scanned but it doesn't find any error. You still need to back up those programs and files into a DVD or CD and keep it in the secured place anyway
But I think he rather made a joke on you. If he knows he has a virus on his email, he should do something about it, not leave it. Besides I believe Yahoo will not allow any known virus into its database.

Even if he did send a virus, if you have anti virus protection, you could very well be protected. Even if the computer is infected, viruses can be cleaned out by computer technicians.

He is winding you up .yahoo is web based no matter what pc you are on you can access your account he would have no idea if anybody was logging into his yahoo.

download avgfree off the internet this is free and will get rid of most viruses do it the sooner the better
