Did you have a foot injury at work? If so, contact the injured workers, department of labor or WCB to find out what they have to say about the matter. The rules that you need to check on vary from state to state. In general, if a doctor has signed a note stating a certain thing, that should stand.

If your physcian states you are only to do light duties,it meas just that. Now an employer could put you off on sick leave if there are no light duties to be performed. They must tell you this and you have to sign a paper that you agree with this decision.Consult your employee hand book.I would also contact your states employment and discrimination laws.

yes it is. if he keeps you on heavy duty jobs, it's his fault if your foot does not heal properly. inform your doctor that you were not given light duty. he can get you a medical leave. document everything. your employer can be held accountable down the road if you have permanent injury from being placed right back on heavy duty.

In many cases your employer (in "at will" states) can fire you with "no cause".
If you cannot do the job he wants you to do, be careful as he may, for no stated reason, fire you.
In other words, you may wish to tread lightly for the sake of your foot and for the sake of your job.

Your employer has two choices, give you light duty work, or give you time off to recover if he doesn't have any light duty work for you. As to whether he has to pay you while you're off, I don't think so. That's what disability insurance is for.
'nuff said?

Legal?
Who cares?
