Yeah actually we do , the National Guard and the Reservists were never intended to do this kind of service. This Administration prefers to make the wrong but popular decision rather than the right but unpopular one.

We have no need for the draft right now. Not everyone is suited to military life and can make just as big of a contribution in another capacity. There are plenty of volunteer programs available to serve your community. When we are in a place that we need the start up the draft my hopes will be that we will have even more volunteers.

That is how Hitler got so many German boys to back-pack across Europe much to the delight of the rest of the world. The draft would have one positive effect, it would cause a massive backlash against the Bush regime as people smart enough to realize Bush is an idiot, would have their lives laid on the line to further the cause of greed in this resource war in Iraq.

If the United States wants to enter a new period of civil unrest youth violence endless demonstrations go ahead. maybe the administration can make matters as bad as they were when the U.S. was embroiled in the vietnam war. Hell, be the first one on your block to have your boy come home in a box compliments of the U.S. draft.

I think you need to stop all the waging of war.

Of all the great things the United States of America has achieved over the centuries, it is a shame that Americans seem unable to achieve lasting peace. It is the one great flaw in your country.

It certainly looks like it is coming sooner or later. If we have to fight Iran/Syria then we will require a lot more troops than we have. We should start training them now but it would be a very unpopular move for the Rebublicans.

yes we should all give something back. but i do feel that however a person wants to participate is their own choice and because of this i do not like the idea of a draft.

Yes and this everybody gets to go. Don't let the rich kids hide (yeah, like that's going to happen) send em' all. We can see all these false patriotic types who defend the war bravely run and hide and get deferments for their kids. It's the late 60's and early 70's all over again. Yippee we're all gonna die. Don't you just love war!

Great idea, but this is America. Land of the privileged, selfish, spoiled rich. All TAKE & no Give. Sad but true, but with the volunteer army, we can OUTSOURCE the WAR, by hiring the poor immigrants. Sad but true.

The military doesn't seem to think we need it. I really would prefer that only those who wish to would serve.
