You know, if you show them that you care, they will never stop -- they may even have fun attacking you and anticipating your reaction.
Just ignore them. That's what ignorant people like them deserve.

I'm really proud of the maturity you have shown in this post offering to make peace and friends with those that have been negative toward you. Now the rest is up to them. All you can do and all you are responsible to do is make the effort and you have. If they choose to accept that , great, if they don,t, well you know you tried and no one can ask more than that. The best thing when you see negative comments about yourself, is to take a deep breath and as hard as it is to do sometimes, ignore it and move on to another Question that you are happy to answer. That way those that appreciate you and your comments will be pleased to hear you have answered. We all go through some negativity here, but you have made a super huge effort now the keep the forum returning to a nice peaceful place and you should be congratulated for that. We all are at different levels of maturity. But don't expect every person in the world to know that you have changed. Some may harbor resentments toward you, but in time, they will either come to accept you as you are now, or not. If anyone puts Americans down like it is done here, I will return the favor and move on. I don't harbor a grudge but, if the same people continue the bashing, then I'll bash back. I always knew you were perfectly old enough to judge people fairly. =D I agree, there are some narrow-minded people who only accept a certain perspective and believe others are inferior. There's no point listening to them when you're better off believing in yourself and your own opinions. They can insult people all they want, they are the only ones who will be at a loss.
Ignorance is even more evident in certain people when it takes so many peace-making attempts to make some people notice your intentions.

You cannot allow people to push your buttons and control your emotions with their small-minded nastiness. Some people will always be nasty and rude, but you can control how you respond or react to it. By reacting to it and getting defensive you give them exactly the reaction they want. Hi Deamon_chick ....don't let them get to you..they're not worth your time and effort. You know who your friends and supporters are so you don't need people that are going to trash you and put you down..You have to walk with your head up high and be proud of who you are. As for them they'll have to live the rest of their lives feeling sorry for themselves.
