Well there is 2 answers for ur case:
1.If the file is a movie there is some kinda software to split .
2.If there is any other file use a archiver software(like winzip or winrar) and chose in how many party and size want to make the archive.

Look up hjsplit, it's a program that can split up files, but make sure you have it on the computer you're moving the files to, to put them back together.

I need more info... to give you the best method I know of.
If this is a database... write an application program that reads and re-formats the data... into the desired format.
Honestly... your question lacks the detail required.. unless you are looking for a binary "split" program.
