I am about 14 weeks along. I have an ultrasound on Wed. I'm starting to already feel some movement- which I usually don't until 20 weeks, and I am starting to "show" already, and I (persoanlly) don't usually show until about 18 weeks or so. Just curious. I"ll pick a best answer on Wed. evening after my ultrasound. I think it would be very exiting to have twins.....

Very unusual to feel the baby move at 14 weeks. They really aren't big enough or strong enoung for you to feel. (Of course some people will claim exceptions)

I bet you are further along. Maybe by a month.

Twin symptoms: increased nausea, size larger than dates, abnormally high Alpha Feta Protein blood test, abnormal Multiple Marker (blood test) suggesting increased risk for open neural tube defect (false positive)

The older a woman is, the more likely she will have multiple gestation pregnancy (twins, triplets)
Ethnically: African American woman have more multiples

Originally fatigue is a lot greater than with one fetus, and you may get more nauseous than with just one fetus, but honestly it won't be evident until further on in your pregnancy when your belly gets much bigger much faster than with a singleton.

I didn't find out I was having twins until my 19 week ultrasound. I felt I was getting bigger faster, but my doctor assured me that I was on great track for a singleton and I hadn't gained an insane amount of weight yet so they didn't know until my second ultrasound.

Although if you really believe you are carrying twins ask your doctor for an ultrasound early to verify.

Dont try and gauge things by how you feel. Only the ultrasound can verify that you will have twins. Twins are usually hereditary. Do they run in your or your husband's families?
