Because we are in the 3rd dimension, and are on the 3rd planet away from the sun?
Plus, there are said to be 9 dimensions, and there are 9 planets?
Is this just coincidence?

Who told you that we are in the third dimension?
We see things with 3D view that's right but we can also sense the fouth dimension; that is time. Dimension is that thing with respect too which we can refer to an occurence in the universe. According to it's definition we can sense four dimension with our sensing capabilities.
And dimensions are not confined to 9 only. According to Kaluza-Klein theory there are 11 dimensions and mathematically 33 dimensions has yet been found.
And if someone tries to find a link between the number of planets and dimension that will be similar to finding the link between my weight in kg and the amount of food the baby eats in gram who has been born a week ago in my neighbourhood.
I hope I have been able to give you an idea.

Your joking right lol? 9 dimensions I thought there were only 4. 3 we can see, and time. So if your correct I guess if we go to mercury we would be all flat. Well you might get some believers,,but even if there were 9 dimensions,,, it would totally be a coincidence.

You're a little off there.
There are Eleven Dimensions according to 'M theory'.
And yes, there are lots of links between the Dimensions and the Planets, just not the type you mean :)

The dimensions are not linked to the planets per sey, but dimensions are related to the life that exisist on these planets.
for example we on earth exisist on the physical plane, while the life on other planets exsist on a higher plane.
which is why if you send a probe to mars you can only see the physical......
besides the physical plane there is the spritual and then mental plane.....
with regards to matter there exisist finer and finer forms of matter that man is not yet able to detect.
i read a book on the topic, i could be wrong.
