It's a bit difficult to understand your question but I think you are saying

"Although parents look after their children when the children are young , the children don't look after the parents when they become old."

If this is what you mean - the answer is very simple.

Parents look after children.
This is what parents do.

The only reward parents should expect is that when children grow up and have children of their own - they should look after THEIR children.

This is the way it is meant to be.
If any parent expects more than that - they are being very selfish.

I am not saying grown up children should ignore their parents.
Of course not. They must visit their parents, maybe take them out for a meal once or twice a year, invite them round for dinner maybe once a month - and that is all.

No money, no cleaning their house - they must devote all their time in caring for their own children.

Now phone your mother/father/grandmother/grandfather and tell them that you love them.

This is enough.

I don't know what society you live in but where I'm from we highly respect our elders. My mom takes care of her mothers even though one of them can take very great care of herself and the other one lives alone.

She gives them money, buys them new things, gives them comfort, drives them places and even cleans their homes.

I take care of my mom too sometimes. When she's sick I take special care to make her feel better. I listen to her when she's stressed.

Society changed I guess. My brother had a few run-ins with unappreciative teens who didn't show respect for elders. He was the same age as those teenagers but he helped the elders and later tried to knock some sense into the teens who were being a******.

There are children who take care of their parents in old age too. World is made up of all kinds of people, not all aliek obviously. Agree some people dont show kindness to their parents in their old age, coz of lack of patience, time or whatever. Old people are like kids too, they demand attention all the time and act childish. we have to show them kindness and patience like they guided us when we were kids and took care of all our needs without us asking for it.
