The government is to "Bribe" councils to build lots of new houses and people are saying, "NIMBY (Not in my back yard)" We don't have a back yard, we have lawns and fruit trees around our house so we are exempt but isn't that a short-sighted attitude when we need more housing for our citizens and immigrants?

we don't need more houses. there are plenty of empty houses. The construction industry makes more money from building on new land than demolishing and rebuilding in existing housing areas. As usual, it is all to do with money.

Don't you worry dearie. If you haven't got a back yard, that lovely garden with all its fruit trees (what, no pond?) can be used for twice as many houses as a back yard could! You don't half kid yourself about being exempt, don't you! Ever heard of "Compulsory purchasing"?
