Equilibrium: Psychologically some balance between desires and satisfaction is important; somewhat paradoxically complete satisfaction may not be ideal, it can be argued that perhaps it is better if things are left to be desired.

Equilibrium is a state of balance or equality. And that is when forces opposing each other cancel each other out and bring rest to a 'conflict'. We talk of equilibrium for example in physics, chemistry, economics and any other field. Generally speaking, conflicting or opposing forces 'agree' to make a 'ceasefire', at least temporarily, until factors around them change again and trigger them to motion.

In economics, equilibrium obtains when markets clear and buyers and sellers are satisfied.
