My sons mom is married. He gets drunk off his *** and blames it on her. Sometimes he leave bruises on her arm from grabbing to hard. They always fight. We broke up because we argued and thought it wasn't heathy for our child. She has 2 from him 1 from me. I told her she needs to think about the kids and leave. I'm hurt because I have been by her side for 4 years. I have helped her and her kids with bad times. I would love to take responsibility and take care of them. I feel hurt because I dont think she wants me back into the picture. I just want her and the children to be happy and, there not. I could do better.

She left you due to arguments and went to an abuser. She has trouble with good choices. Take care of your kid and stay out of the rest. Any interference from you will make matters worse. She needs to be on her own for a while after any relationship is over.
She also has to make the decision to get out on her own.

This is such a sad situation. When women have been abused over a period of time they begin to get co-dependent on their partners. A lot of abuse women experience in those types of relationships is mental as well as physical. Men will tend to beat the woman down emotionally by telling her she is not worthy, beautiful, smart, no other man would have her...degrading things like that. This is to ensure that they keep control over the situation. The best thing you can do for her is to let her know that she does have a way out. Remind her that she is a human and no one deserves being treated like that. The more confidence and kindness you show her the more she will respond to that since she isn't getting it at home. Also gently remind her that she is not going through that alone. She has a choice to stay in that type of situation but those children don't. They are going through everything she is even if she thinks the kids don't see it. They feel the stress believe me. She needs to get out now before she leaves those kids with permanent emotional and possibly physical scars.
