You don't have to lie to her, just to keep her in her limbo of ignorance. Said that, if your mum is a sort of modern one and has explained you all about safe sex, condoms, etc., you should start to drop hints until you see she is ready to talk about the matter. If you aren't sure about her possible reaction, follow the old tactic: tell her that you want to give advice to a friend in school and that you don't know what to do, and then you tell your mum your story saying that is your friend's case. If she reacts positively and calm you'll know that she is ready, but if she burst into a sort of verbal tantrum, just don't open your mouth.

People please her mom is asking her this question because she cares and she wants to make sure that her daughter is with someone who is going to make her happy not just use her

Having said that you were an idot to have sex at 14 you might have felt like you were ready for it but your body wouldnt have been and it could in future cause complications

It is estimated that one-fourth of all new human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) cases each year occur in people ages 13 to 21, that half are among people under the age of 25, and that the majority of these infections are transmitted sexually. Other sexually transmitted viral infections that are prevalent among adolescents include the human papillomavirus, associated with the vast majority of cases of cervical dysplasia (a pre-cancerous condition of the cervix that affects over 2.5 million American women), and hepatitis B virus, which increases the risk of cirrhosis and cancer of the liver.Adolescent women are also highly vulnerable to chlamydia and gonorrhea. While the target gonorrhea rate established by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services is 225 per 100,000 people, the national rate for females ages 15 to 19 in 1996 was 699.18 And in some urban areas, the rate among adolescent females has ranged as high as 6,000 for more than a decade. In 1996, the national rate of chlamydia per 100,000 females ages 15 to 19 was 1,942. Chlamydia is probably the most common sexually transmitted disease in the United States. Together with gonorrhea, chlamydia is a leading cause of pelvic inflammatory disease and a common cause of infertility, ectopic pregnancy, and fetal complications, including premature birth

Those are just some of the complications that can be caused by having sex before your body is fully developed.

Of course at 14 I understand that you didnt know any of that and I peronally blame the school you went to for not providing proper sexual health classes and sex education

AND THAT PEOPLE IS WHY HER MOM IS CONCERNED

Get to know your mom better. If you think she would have a heartattack then dont. Otherwise, be open to her and communicate more often with her. The friendship Mother-Daughter is is priceless.

I think you'll tell her when your ready. If you two have an open relationship then she won't mind. When you are older things like this just come out naturally. You two will laugh about it I'm sure.

I really can't see why. Would telling her now make you feel better - or would you be in for a load of grief?

I strongly suspect this is a situation lots of girls find themselves in - so stop worrying.

Well this is kinda personal and if you're close to your mom, I guess its ok to tell her. But hell, about 149297374 women don't tell their moms about their loss of virginity. It's OK dear, dont' worry yourself over it.
