On this very day my dear friend getting discharge from hospital after successful treatment on his fatal accident....and we are celebrating his safe return to home............don't you think this is a memorable moment for all friends?

There are two: 1. When my mathematical research work has been used in Acoustics by a very famous institute of theoretical physics in (W)Germany, and 2. When a young lady, no friend of me, having observed my attitude to my work ( as she says, called for an appointment on a day, came and sought my blessings as it was her birth day. Some times I get even proud of the second experience. I treat that as the achievement of my life.

If they make friendship day into an observed holiday, and close down all the bureaucratic places, like LIBRARIES.. -.- ... I will go to the movie theatre, like every other observed holiday, and throw M&Ms variously at the movie screen and the asshats passively captivated by it.

For other friends on yahoo answers, friendship day falls on Sunday following Aug 5. Hence this year it is on Aug 6.
